RS WALL IN BILASPUR H.P

Why RS Wall ?

  • If  the back fill is to be done more than 5m. for a Highway or Expressway and Right of way (ROW) restricts you to give a free slope a RS WALL can be installed in that conditions.
  • It can be installed up to a height of 60m , where erection of retaining wall is not viable.
  • In Countries/States where environmental norms are tight which makes compulsion to make a environmental friendly structure a RS WALL can be installed as RCC WALL do not camouflage well with the greenery around it and act as a blot in a jungle or green belt.
  • Where project budget is low RS WALL can be installed as they are 40-60% cost efficient to RCC structure as a lot of concrete and steel is saved.
  • In areas where water table is high or the strata conditions are muddy  RS WALL can be installed , as its foundation is made up of Granular Sub Base (GSB) which act as a drainage layer thus separating water from embankment.

RS Wall Facia After watering and Monsoons

RS WALL

RS WALL ; REINFORCED SOIL WALL

Reinforced Soil Walls are in use for more than 40 years world over and for more than 25 years in India and are increasingly being adopted in highway especially in mountainous terrain. These application call for use of relatively new technology and materials . The development in theory, design methods and experience of the behaviour of RS Walls gained in laboratories, and full scale tests and field application in India and abroad have brought knowledge from developmental stage to wide spread application in hands of practising engineers.
